Chapter 16 - Verse 11

चिन्तामपरिमेयां च प्रलयान्तामुपाश्रिताः ।
कामोपभोगपरमा एतावदिति निश्चिताः ॥ ११ ॥

cintāmaparimeyāṃ ca pralayāntāmupāśritāḥ .
kāmopabhogaparamā etāvaditi niścitāḥ .. 11 ..


Beset with immense cares ending only with death, sensual enjoyment their highest aim, assured that that is all †;

Sensual enjoyment is the supreme source of happiness : there is no such thing as the happiness of another world.—A.

They give themselves up to care.‡ Sensual enjoyment : Enjoyment of sense-objects such as sound. They are convinced that this sensual enjoyment is the highest end of man.

The immeasurable care as to the means of acquiring and preserving the innumerable objects of desire.—A.
