Chapter 6 - Verse 7

जितात्मनः प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहितः ।
शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानावमानयोः ॥ ७ ॥

jitātmanaḥ praśāntasya paramātmā samāhitaḥ .
śītoṣṇasukhaduḥkheṣu tathā mānāvamānayoḥ .. 7 ..


The self-controlled and serene man’s Supreme Self is steadfast in cold and heat, in pleasure and pain, as also in honour and disgrace.

When a man has subdued the aggregate of the body and the senses, when his mind (antah-karana) is tranquil, when he has renounced all actions, then the Supreme Self actually becomes his own Self.
