Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ancient Knowledge (“the Site,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We keep collection to what’s actually needed to run a free, ad-and-donation-supported library — nothing here is sold, and nothing here is collected for its own sake.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. If you contact us or make a donation, we receive what that action requires — for example, an email address if you write to us, or the billing details our payment processor needs to complete a donation. We do not see or store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves; those are handled entirely by our payment processor (see “Payments,” below).
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site collects standard technical information when you visit — pages viewed, approximate location (country/region level, from IP address), device and browser type, and referring site. This is used in aggregate to understand how the library is used and to keep it running reliably; it is not used to build an individual profile of you.
Cookies. The Site uses cookies set by us (to remember display preferences such as light/dark theme) and cookies set by third-party services we use — principally Google, for advertising (see “Advertising,” below). You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect some preference-remembering features but will not prevent you from reading anything in the library.
Advertising
The Site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Payments
Donations made through the Site are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway. When you make a donation, the payment details you enter are transmitted directly to Razorpay and are subject to Razorpay’s own privacy policy. We receive confirmation that a donation was made and its amount, but we do not receive or store your full card, UPI, or bank account details.
How we use information
What we collect is used to: operate and maintain the Site; understand aggregate readership and usage patterns; process and confirm donations; respond if you contact us; and serve relevant advertising through the providers named above. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named in this policy, each of whom processes it only to provide their service to us.
Data retention and security
We retain automatically collected data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law. We take reasonable technical measures to protect information in our control, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

You can decline cookies in your browser, opt out of personalized advertising through the links above, and contact us at any time to ask what information, if any, we hold about you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site’s services change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.
