Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2021

This policy covers voluntary donations made through Ancient Knowledge. The Site does not sell goods or services, so most standard e-commerce refund scenarios don’t apply — but genuine payment mistakes do happen, and this is how we handle them.

Donations are generally non-refundable

Because a donation is a voluntary gift rather than a payment for goods or services, donations are non-refundable by default once processed.

Exceptions

We will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund for:

  • Duplicate payments — the same donation charged more than once due to a technical error.
  • Incorrect amount — a payment processed for a materially different amount than you intended to give, due to a clear technical or input error.
  • Unauthorized transactions — a payment you did not authorize, subject to our and Razorpay’s standard verification.

How to request one

Contact us within 7 days of the transaction via the Contact page, with the payment date, amount, and a transaction reference (from your bank/UPI app or the confirmation you received). We’ll investigate against our payment processor’s records and let you know the outcome.

Processing time

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and are typically reflected within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider — this final step is outside our direct control once initiated.

Cancellations

Because donations are processed immediately, there is no “pending” donation to cancel after payment is complete. If you believe a donation is still processing and want to stop it, contact us immediately via the Contact page and we’ll do what we can before it settles.

Contact

Questions about a specific payment can be sent via the Contact page — please include the transaction details above so we can look into it quickly.
